GU-QuMat is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt, BMFTR) under reference 01DK24008.

GU-QuMat is one of four German-Ukrainian Centres of Excellence selected in the call "Richtlinien für Zuwendungen für den Aufbau Deutsch-Ukrainischer Exzellenzkerne in der Ukraine", aiming to establish bilateral research groups in Ukraine to attract excellent Ukrainian scientists, strenghtening bilateral R&D expertise, forming bilateral cooperation bridges and promoting brain circulation between Germany and Ukraine.
